Flight Instructor: FI(A)

  Organization

The theoretical and practical training to obtaine the FI(A) License is organized by Ostend Air College B/FTO-001.
The lessons take place at Ostend Air College, Nieuwpoortsesteenweg 945B, 8400 Oostende.

  Admission requirements

The candidate must meet the following requirements before he may enroll in this course:

 Minimum age 18 years
 At least a CPL (A) or have performed at least 200 hours of flight time, of which 150 hours must be as pilot in command if he is the holder of a PPL (A)
 Passed theoretical examination CPL (A)
 At least 30 hours on SEP at least five hours in the 6 months prior to the admission test for the course
 At least 10 hours of instrument flight instruction (DB) of which up to 5 hours must be spent on a flight simulator or FNPTII
 At least 20 hours cross-country flight as pilot in command including a cross-country flight of at least 300 NM during which a landing must be made at two different airports, different from the one of departure. A full stop landing has been performed
Succeeding in the entry flight test for FI (A) authorized by an FI (A). This test must take place in the 6 months prior to the start of the course

  Training program FI (A) according the norm JAR-FCL 1.340

Theory (35 hours of instruction techniques and pedagogy, 83 hours and 25 hours lesson development briefing)
20 hours briefings
30 flight hours on DA40 and 2 to 3 hours on Cessna 150
25 hours instructor guidance

  Final exam
